It’s Been A Minute!

I cannot believe how the years have flown by! I have missed being part of the Goodreads community, so now I’m making the effort to return. So many great people on Goodreads: actual readers who value more than the superficial constructs of much that passes as “important” with the capital I.

There is so much to report, and so much to share. I promise that anything going forward is authentic and not AI. Personally, I cannot stand AI generated posts, and I’ll touch on that later. For now, I want to write about some of the adventures I’ve had, the wonderful people I have met, and my thoughts on writing. Yep, all narcissistic topics, but written in a way I hope you may find interesting. Always feel free to comment, or contact me directly at dgu5656(at)gmail.com. I will try to answer every enquiry.

About David Urban

David Grant Urban is an award-winning novelist whose work explores journeys, resilience, and the American road. His debut, "A Line Intersected" (2017), is a literary noir thriller set in San Diego. His second novel, "A Road Wanting Wear" (2023), a gritty motorcycle adventure, took First Place in Literary Fiction at the 2023 Firebird Awards and was a finalist for the Santa Fe Writers Project Literary Awards. Kirkus Reviews praised his “masterful” depiction of a biker’s life, dusty locations, and the exhilaration of the open road. A San Diego native who spent years living an itinerant life—cross-country by bicycle and rail, and two years aboard a sailboat—Urban now makes his home in East Tennessee. He continues to write short fiction and is at work on a sequel to his first novel.
